We interupt Eyeris' Weekly Book Reviews (which reverts back to a Hopefully-Weekly book review this week) for the last in Eyeris' year end movie lists, the speical Eyeris Oscars!

Eyeris' Favorite Movies of the Year

  1. Cars
  2. V for Vendetta
  3. The Prestige
  4. Casino Royale
  5. Lady in the Water
  6. Gubra
  7. Superman Returns
  8. The Devil Wears Prada

The Shyamalan Award for Twist of the Year

  • Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest
  • The Prestige
  • Lady in the Water

The Quentin Quotable Quote Award:

  • When you are a man, sometimes you wear stretchy pants in your room. It's for fun. (Nacho, Nacho Libre)
  • The building is a symbol, as is the act of destroying it. Symbols are given power by people. Alone, a symbol is meaningless, but with enough people, blowing up a building can change the world. (V, V for Vendetta)

The George Lucas Award for Most Cringe-Worthy Line of the Year:

  • I have no armour left. You've stripped it from me. Whatever is left of me - whatever I am - I'm yours. (James Bond, Casino Royale)

The Jar-Jar & Dobby Award for Most Annoying Character:

  • Elizabeth Swann (Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest)
  • Elliot the mule deer (Open Season)

The Yoda Award for best Ass-Kicker:

  • V
  • James Bond
  • Wolverine

The Extremely Bias Pixar Award for Best Animation of the year:

  • Cars
  • Monster House

The Most Unexpectedly Good movie this year:

  • The Prestige
  • Superman Returns
  • The Devil Wears Prada

The Punisher Award for Movie that did not live up to my expectations:

  • X-Men: The Last Stand
  • The Departed
  • Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest

Funniest Mindlessly Dumb Movie this Year:

  • Borat (Only movie I have yet to watch in this entire list of lists. If the movie is half as funny as the trailer, then it thoroughly deserves this award)
  • Nacho Libre

Most Memorable Soundtrack of the Year (a.k.a. the Movie that had me humming its theme music endlessly after the movie):

  • Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest
  • Casino Royale
  • Superman Returns

Best song in a movie:

  • Sleep (Azure Ray) - Devil Wears Prada
  • Shipping Up To Boston (Dropkick Murphys) - The Departed
  • Our Town (James Taylor) - Cars
